Invoice before you leave the driveway
The invoice that gets paid fastest is the one you send while the client is still standing next to you. A two-minute routine for the end of every service call.

The job is done, the tools are back in the van, and the invoice is… something for tonight. Tonight becomes the weekend, and a week later you are chasing a payment for work the client has already half forgotten.
The fix is not working later. It is sending the invoice before you leave the driveway, while the result is in front of the client and the agreement is fresh.
Why the same-hour invoice gets paid faster
- The client can see what was fixed. There is nothing to dispute and no reason to wait.
- The amount is the one you agreed on an hour ago, not a number that arrives out of context.
- A pay link in hand turns "I'll send a transfer" into a payment made on the spot.
The two-minute routine
- Photos first. Before and after, straight from the camera, tagged to the job. They land on the PDF.
- Add the line items. Parts and labour come from your own price list, priced right the first time; anything new you type is saved for the next job.
- Check the tax. Your saved rate is already on the invoice: HST, GST + QST, IVA or whatever you charge.
- Signature on the phone. The client signs on your screen and gets the PDF by text or e-mail.
- Show the QR code. Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or the transfer app the client already uses. Mark it paid and drive off.
What belongs on the invoice
Keep it short but specific: what was wrong, what you did, the parts with their model numbers, the warranty period, and exactly how to pay. A client who understands the invoice pays it; a client who has to call you first does not.
When the job is bigger
For a repair that needs a second visit, send an estimate now and collect a deposit. The estimate becomes the invoice later, with the deposit already credited, so the balance due is never a surprise.
VisitIO does all of this on the phone you already carry, offline if the basement has no signal. Start free and send your first invoice from the next job.
